Hence, I bring to an end that in DesireesBaby, Armand was wrong to have so much pride, but Desirees weakcharacter spurned her awful fate. In Stench of Kerosine, Manak wasweak and stupid, but the consequences of his marrying again could havebeen avoided if Guleri trusted her husband. It is simply too easy toblame the men entirely for what happened.
